[ The planetary system of Paegos did not support life on most of its moons, save for Paegos-IX, a world comprised most of its calendar year of snow and ice with few months in between to support any sort of plant life. In fact, most life dwelled underground or below the frozen waste to begin with, and it was only with the arrival of outworlders that humanity deigned to build above the glacial surface.
There was a kingdom here, once; the Mailean people were pacifists and kept mostly to themselves, though willing to trade with those who docked ship in their astral harbors. They followed and worshipped a great creature of wisdom, which frowned upon the violence of their starfaring neighbors: the Kirin was a creature of Balance and Abundance, and detested strife. It was said that humanity, longing for a greater power promised to them by devilish being, turned on their protector: the Kirin was slain like a common beast in the halls it had protected for ages. But it could not remain dead, blessed with divine might as it was, and it used its power to take retribution on those who betrayed it. The Kindom of Mailea was no more.
... That's the legend surrounding Paegos-IX, anyway. In this era, the planet is a pit-stop for long-haul journeys, on those without self-sufficient city-ships like the Xianzhou Alliance or larger stations. To restock or take temporary rest, and little else; every turn of the sun, it seems, the planet grows more hostile to life, for one reason or another (perhaps there is a Stellaron here. perhaps not. nobody remains long enough to find out). The one unique benefit to this planet was its myriad hot springs, sheltered beneath the thick ceilings of its glaciers, though the journey to the planet was hardly worth it.
It isn't unusual to see all sorts of space-faring species passing through, so in this place this woman seems fairly nondescript-- with hooves and a tail and a horn, dressed warmly with what looks like a fur-ruffed coat. She mostly seems to be watching people come and go with a careful eye. ]
